Westfield State has grouped the various financial aid programs available to our students into three different categories: grant/waivers, loan and work. The following is a description of the grants that are available.
The Federal Pell Grant
A federal grant designed for undergraduate students who demonstrate exceptional need. For the 2020-2021 academic year the awarded value ranges from $448 to $6,345.
The Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
A federal grant designed for undergraduate students who demonstrate exceptional need.
The Mass GRANT
A state grant to assist Massachusetts full-time, undergraduate, Pell Grant recipients. The awarded value ranges from $600 to $1700.
The Massachusetts CASH Grant
A state-funded grant for Massachusetts undergraduate students who demonstrate need. This should not be confused with Mass GRANT.
The Financial Aid Tuition Waiver
All or part of tuition may be waived; recipient must be a full-time, undergraduate, Massachusetts resident who demonstrates need.
University Grant
Westfield State University-funded grant for students who demonstrate need.
The Westfield State University Housing Grant
Westfield State University-funded grant for students residing on campus who demonstrate need.
The Part-Time Grant
Westfield State University-funded grant for students enrolled less than full time who demonstrate need.
The Division of Graduate and Continuing Education Grant
Westfield State University-funded grant for undergraduate students who are attending part-time through the Division of Graduate and Continuing Education.
All grant funds require that students submit a new FAFSA each year and demonstrate continued eligibility in order to be considered.
