Welcome from the Dean of CAHSS

We are proud to be at the heart of the broad liberal arts curriculum at Westfield State.

Offering 12 majors (and more than 30 minors), the departments in our College give students the ability to sharpen their creativity, develop their powers of analysis, and deepen their skills as communicators. 

Our faculty members mentor students closely and become their champions, helping them to discover their talents and explore possibilities for careers and graduate studies. 

This is an exciting time to major in the arts, humanities, and social sciences because these are the very disciplines that prepare students for the challenges and possibilities of the 21st century: our graduates leave Westfield ready to innovate, to collaborate, to use their imaginations, to think deeply, and to contribute meaningfully to their communities.
