WSU is a great place for folks interested in canoeing and kayaking, both recreationally and competitively. We typically run several student canoe trips on the Westfield River in the Fall and Spring. There are whitewater races on the nearby Westfield River, the Deerfield River, and many other local streams. There is a very strong flatwater canoe and kayak racing circuit, and the University regularly has several teams at the Josh Billings Runaground Triathlon.
