Meet Yertle the Turtle!

He is a 1 year old yellow belly turtle. He is new to being in a classroom but is excited to learn! He is part of our classroom to teach the students about how to care for a living organism. Yertle helps the students learn responsibility and independence. In the classroom, there is a chart where every day a student is assigned to feed him or to give him water. I clean his cage as a safety precaution; I don't want Yertle or a student to get hurt moving his tank. When the students are working hard and behaving, Yertle will be allowed out of the cage to hang out! I hope all my students will love him as much as I do!
