Update from Alumni Association President
It has been an incredible honor for me to represent you all as president of the Westfield State Alumni Association this past year, and I thank you for that. I’ve had an opportunity to meet many of you at various University, Westfield State Foundation, Inc., and alumni association events. It’s very exciting to see more and more people connecting back with classmates and with Westfield State.
The passion and enthusiasm that I see for our University is inspiring, as are the stories of the incredible things that you all accomplish through your careers, your families and your volunteer activities. I look forward to continuing to support the alumni association and having the opportunity to talk more with many of you.

Incoming President of the Alumni Association
As I begin my term as president of the Westfield State Alumni Association, I am excited to be involved in the expansion of the programs and opportunities available to the 37,000-plus alums of Westfield State. The year ahead kicks off with our Homecoming 2015 celebration on Oct. 17, and I encourage you to come back to campus with your friends and roommates to see for yourself the many enhancements to the campus since you have graduated. Other opportunities to reconnect throughout the year include the Holiday Reception in December, the Second Annual Summer Kickoff in May and other regional events.
I am proud of the efforts currently in place to expand the recognition of the contributions of Westfield State alumni to their communities, careers and the campus. In the coming months, we will announce the addition of several new awards for alumni to complement the annual Distinguished Alumnus award.

Third Annual NYC trip
Westfield State alumni and friends are hosting an annual bus trip to New York City on Saturday, Dec. 12. Our motor coach will leave campus from the Horace Mann Parking Lot, 333 Western Avenue, Westfield, at 6:30 a.m. and will return to campus at approximately 10 p.m. Once in Manhattan, you will have the day to explore on your own. Take in the sights, enjoy the holiday lights, do a little shopping, or catch a show on Broadway! Enjoy a warm beverage at one of the many hip cafes, or try a new experience dining at an exotic restaurant. No matter what you choose to do, there’s no better place to do it than the big city! Tickets are $36 and can be purchased online at westfieldalumni.org/nyc.

Musical Theatre Guild Marks 40th Anniversary!
The longest-run student organization at Westfield State is celebrating 40 years in 2016! #GiveAHoot Day
Westfield State held its very first Day of Giving, #GiveAHoot, on June 2-3. Thanks to the generous donations of alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends, we were successful, bringing in new donors and over $10,000 to our annual fund. Please mark your calendar now to be a part of #GiveAHoot Day II on April 7–8, 2016.
