Community mourns passing of staff member Michael Parenteau

The University community is mourning the loss of long-time Environmental Services employee Michael Parenteau, who passed away in late April. He leaves behind his wife, three sons, and their beloved family dog. His family has shared that they are remembering his well-lived life fondly by celebrating his wonderful sense of humor, his supportive nature, and the pride he had as a family man and amazing father.

Parenteau joined Westfield State in 2005 as a second-shift maintainer. Please keep the Parenteau family, as well as his many friends and colleagues in the Environmental Services Department and across all divisions at Westfield State, in your thoughts as they endure this loss.

All faculty and staff are reminded that bereavement and counseling services and resources are available to them through AllOne Health, Westfield State’s free and confidential employee assistance and work-life program.
