The University will host the 9th annual “Words with Friends” city-wide Spelling Bee Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. at Dever Stage in Parenzo Hall.
Sixteen students from Westfield Intermediate School will participate, the top spellers among the city’s entire fifth-grade class. The event is sponsored by George’s Jeweler of Westfield and organized by the Circle K (Kiwanis) club at Westfield State in conjunction with the Volunteers in Public Schools of Westfield.
The event is free and open to the public.
