The department formerly known as Geography and Regional Planning (GARP) has changed its name to Geography, Planning and Sustainability (GPS).
According to Department Chair Brian Conz, “This change comes after much thought and discussion with our students, alumni and together as department faculty members. By adding sustainability to the department name we seek to draw attention to our work for more ecologically regenerative, economically vibrant, socially just and equitable communities. We hope to continue to deepen and expand our relationships to programs across the sciences and humanities under this banner.”
