The WSU Police Department hosted a Cornhole tournament on Nov. 10, raising more than $1,200 to support the American Cancer Society and its Real Men Wear Pink campaign to raise money to help fight breast cancer. Local businesses generously donated funds and raffle items for the event.
Seventeen teams competed in the double-elimination tournament at University Hall, which included trivia with prizes, hot chocolate donated by Dunkin’, and other refreshments.
The winners received sweatshirts from WSU Athletics, sweatpants from Tom Convery of the Alumni Office, and a $100 gift cert from Lemelin Photography. Second place received a $100 gift certificate from Lemelin Photography. This was the second Cornhole tournament hosted by WSU Police.
A special thanks to the tournament sponsors, including Bridal Corner, Dunkin’, Expression’s Salon, The Good Table, Hangar Pub & Grill, Inland Docks, Interstate Towing, Lemelin Photography, Leone Carpentry LLC, Mrs. Murphy’s Donuts, Ron’s Formal Wear, Santiago’s Family Restaurant, Two Rivers Burrito Co., Westfield State Athletics, SAIL, and SGA; and Westwood Restaurant & Pub.
