Alumnus Joshua Garcia is a finalist for mayor of Holyoke

Alumnus Joshua Garcia ’08, M’12 is one of two final candidates for the open position of mayor of Holyoke, which will be decided in the November election.

The news was recently covered by WWLP-TV.

If elected, Garcia would join several alumni who are serving as mayors of cities in western Massachusetts, including Springfield’s Domenic Sarno ’94, West Springfield’s Will Reichelt ’09, and Westfield’s Donald Humason Jr. ’89.

In addition, Tom Bernard M’13 has decided not to seek re-election in November after two terms as mayor of North Adams, while Humason will run for re-election this fall against former Westfield Police Captain Michael McCabe ’84 M’94.
