WSU students inducted to Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honor Society

Twenty-one Westfield State students were celebrated as new inductees to the University’s Nu Mu chapter of the Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honor Society. This year’s ceremony celebrated two years of new members, as last year’s event was cancelled due to the pandemic.

Inductees are ranked in the top third of their class, and have successfully completed at least four political science courses with a minimum of a B average.

The 2021 inductees were Sierra Benware, Kelson Burke, Emily Frost, Timothy Johnson, Lyric Lamagdelaine, Natalie Maslak, Katherine Pinney, Rebecca Rokne, Arianna Sternburg, and Samuel Tsongalis.

The 2020 inductees included Mariam Aydah, Maria Beirne, Jared Granata, Darian Guthrie, Isabelle Jeannotte, Kevin Joyce, Louis Mastriano, Alyssa McKim, Alden Mezger, Emma-Lee Rivet, and Erika Rubner.

Pi Sigma Alpha was founded in 1920 to bring together students and faculty interested in the study of government and politics. It has nearly 850 active chapters, including Westfield State’s Mu Nu chapter which was granted its charter in 1982.
