CURCA celebrates student accomplishments virtually

The University’s Center for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity held its semi-annual celebration, featuring more than 100 student presentations by talented undergraduates from disciplines across campus in an asynchronous event. Click here to view the presentations.

CURCA connects students with faculty members to develop a greater understanding of process, research, and outcomes. Students learn how to apply this knowledge to real-world activities to foster deeper learning and discovery. Through CURCA, students can apply for funding to support their research.

This year, in addition to the asynchronous event, CURCA hosted to virtual events on Dec. 4, via Zoom. The Biology Department hosted a student research conference from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., where students presented their work on lung cancer, Parkinson’s Disease, plant-drought adaptations, next-generations sequencing, and more.

Later in the afternoon, an open microphone event was held, where students were invited to read their original works of poetry.
