Critical supplies donated to MEMA for COVID-19 response

The University has donated supplies to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) to help the state’s effort to respond to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. MEMA will, in turn, distribute these supplies to organizations that request them.

Massachusetts National Guard service members were on campus Friday, March 27, to load onto trucks two pallets of supplies that included approximately 100 boxes of protective gloves as well as lab coats, safety goggles, hand sanitizer, and floor scrubber pads.

“I am extremely proud and impressed by the University’s response and the donations from our campus community,” said Gary Duggan, director of procurement and administrative services at Westfield State. “Everyone worked in a cooperative spirit to identify and donate as much as we could during this challenging time.”
