Thirteen students will participate in Model U.N. events

Thirteen student members of the University’s International Relations Club will take part in Model United Nations events this spring.

The group traveled to McGill University in Montreal Jan. 24–27 for the first of three simulations, accompanied by Professor Brian Steinberg, Ph.D., of the Political Science Department.

The McGill University Model U.N. Assembly brought together 1,600 students from several countries, including Canada and the United States. Students represent future diplomats, politicians, and activists. The delegates put their debate, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to the test through various event simulations.

Student participants included seniors Massara Almafrachi and Jack Chamberland; juniors Luvron Brice, Iyanu Doxy, Scott Howe, Joseph Joyal, Isamar Martinez, Sidiline Pereira Da Veiga, and Ariana Torres; sophomores Joseph Johnston and Lakeisha Lockett, and first-year students Ariana Annarumma and Dana Roberts.

Future simulations are scheduled February 13–16 at Harvard University and April 5–9 at the United Nations in New York City.
