Mass. DOC Commissioner Carol Mici returns to campus

Alumna Carol Mici ’87, commissioner of the Mass. Department of Correction, returned to campus Nov. 6 as a part of the Fall 2019 Alumni Speaker Series to present a talk titled “The Field of Corrections: Looking into the Future.”

Mici was appointed in January by Governor Charlie Baker to run the Department of Correction, an agency that operates 16 correctional facilities, employs over 4,500 staff, and has an annual budget of $660 million and an inmate census of over 8,500.

Mici graduated from Westfield State in 1987 with a B.A. in psychology and a minor in criminal justice and earned a master’s degree in public administration from Suffolk University.
