Parenzo Hall renovation update

Representatives from the Massachusetts Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) and Miller Dyer Spears (MDS) architects shared an update on progress of the Parenzo Hall renovation project at an open forum on Sept. 27.

The project representatives outlined the project’s goals, reviewed its process and shared information on the collaboration with three working groups representative of various faculty, staff, and administrators to advance its work.

DCAMM, MDS and Dober Lidsky Mathey planners also used surveys and interviews with additional campus constituents. They toured similarly renovated spaces at four colleges and analyzed space options throughout the Westfield State campus to create options for Parenzo renovations, as well as to make recommendations for swing space to accommodate the construction.

Current projections call for Parenzo occupants to relocate to temporary space during the winter semester break in early 2021. Project completion is anticipated at the conclusion of the 2022-23 academic year, enabling a summer 2023 move into the renovated Parenzo Hall.
