Four faculty members were recently selected as recipients of this year’s Campus Scholarship Showcase Award.
Sophia Sarigianides, Ph.D., associate professor of English, was honored for her project “The Need for Discipline-Based Racial Literacy Pedagogy for Addressing Racism in English Teacher Preparation.”
Mau-Lun Weng, assistant professor of biology, earned the award for her research “The Nature of Mutations: Where and when Mutations accumulate in the Plant Genome.”
Shirley Wong, Ph.D., assistant professor of English, was recognized for her work “The world and the Garden: Botany and Imperialism in Jamaica Kincaid’s Garden Writing.”
Dr. Yuan Zhang, Ph.D., assistant professor of communication, received the award for her project “Framing Depression and Attributing Responsibilities on Chinese Social Media: The Role of Media Organizations, Mental Health Institutions, and an Online Support Group.”
The outstanding scholarship of faculty, librarians, and staff is celebrated annually, based on peer nominations and selected by the Faculty Center Advisory Committee.
