On Nov. 9, an informational session on the upcoming, multi-year Parenzo Hall renovation project was led by representatives of the State’s Division of Capital Asset Management & Maintenance (DCAMM) and Mathey and Associates architects.
The planning and design process were explained, and Vice President for Administration and Finance Stephen Taksar and other cabinet members assisted DCAMM and Mathey and Associates to answer questions from the crowd of more than 100 in attendance.
Four working groups, comprised of a wide cross-section of employees, have been created to ensure an inclusive planning process. The renovation will address educational/instructional needs, building codes, and safety and accessibility issues.
Following the current utilization study and architect and consultants selection to be completed in January 2019, a schematic design is slated for an October 2019 completion, followed by another 9-month period to complete construction documents and a cost estimate.
Groundbreaking is anticipated in May 2020, with an overall project completion target of October 2022.
