Spring Guest Lecture Series – call for proposals

The University will participate in the 2019 celebration of the City of Westfield’s 350th Anniversary through a variety of activities. Some of these include the Westfield Wednesdays historical program series, showcasing a University float in the May 19 parade, publishing a special issue of the Historical Journal of Massachusetts dedicated to the city’s anniversary, and hosting the indoor track meet as part of the commemorative running race series that begins January 1. For details visit westfield350.org.

Among other possible topics, Westfield State’s Guest Lecture Series for Spring 2019 offers another opportunity for the University community to participate in the celebration of the City of Westfield’s 350th Anniversary.

To propose a program for the Spring 2019 semester, please complete and submit this proposal form by Wednesday, October 31.  Submit proposals with signatures (hard copy or electronic) to Susan Davignon (sdavignon@westfield.ma.edu). Electronic signatures or emails directly referencing the proposal may be used.

Any member of the University community may submit a proposal, so please share this with students. However, a proposal from a student does require a faculty/staff co-proposer. Each proposal selected will be funded for up to $3,000. The Guest Lecture Series Advisory Committee will review all proposals, considering the strength of each proposal and how it would contribute to a balanced series of events, including Westfield’s 350th Anniversary celebration.  Priority will be given to collaborative proposals.
