New structure, leadership for Academic Affairs

Westfield State has transitioned its Division of Academic Affairs from nearly 25 departments to four colleges. The 15-month planning involved input from all campus constituencies and an analysis and resulting recommendation by the University’s Advisory Committee on Academic Planning. The new alignment addresses student needs, promises for enhanced collaboration among academic disciplines and enables greater operational efficiencies to better serve students of all majors.

The four colleges and their respective deans include:

College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences
Interim Dean Emily Todd, Ph.D.

College of Education, Health, and Human Services
Dean Juline Mills, Ph.D.

College of Mathematics and Sciences
Interim Dean Jennifer Hanselman, Ph.D.

College of Graduate and Continuing Education
Dean Shelley Tinkham, Ph.D.

In addition to the recently appointed deans, Dr. Diane Prusank was named the new provost and vice president for Academic Affairs in May.
