President Ramon S. Torrecilha, Ph.D., has been appointed to the 2018 Board of Directors of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU).
“I am proud to serve on the AASCU Board and to represent Westfield State University in public higher education discussions and thrilled to bring back information from these meetings to educate and inform our campus community and Western Massachusetts,” said President Torrecilha. “It is an honor to work with my peers on a national stage through this Board, led by the highly-respected Mildred Garcia, former president of California State University Fullerton.”
The AASCU is a higher education association, based in Washington D.C., of 400 public colleges and universities who “share a learning- and teaching-centered culture, a historic commitment to underserved student populations, and a dedication to research and creativity that advances their regions’ economic progress and cultural development.”
