In class we have discussed the history of ballet and contemporary dance forms. Now it is your turn to be creative! Create a contemporary piece to show to the class the shows that you understand this dance form and what it means to you.

Instructions:

Research previous contemporary artists

Find inspiration online by watching contemporary dance videos

Choose a song

Create a contemporary routine

Requirements:

1 ½ - 2 minutes in length

Must have a title

Must be symbolic and meaningful

Must be performed in class in 2 weeks

Incorporate vocabulary used in class
