More about Mercury!
Did you know Mercury is also called a morning star because it shines brightly in the early morning? It's true, it's also known as the evening star because of the exact same reason! Mercury is covered with craters which were created by asteroids and comets crashing into Mercury by accident. Unlike other planets, Mercury has no atmosphere. This is because it is too small and it doesn't have enough gravity to hold down an atmosphere around it. The sun is also another reason why Mercury does not have an atmosphere because it is so close to the Sun any atmosphere gets blown away by the Sun's solar winds! Sounds intense doesn't it?!
