Theodore RooseveltFor his foreign policy Roosevelt wanted to make the United States a global power.
He
secured the rights to build the Panama Canal and also used the Monroe
Doctrine which that established the United Staes as the policeman of
the Western Hemisphere.
William Taft became president after
Roosevelt. In 1912 Roosevelt ran for president again as he believed
that Taft hadn't followed his policies.
Theodore created the
Progressive Party which became the biggest third party ever in the U.S.
but lost the election to Woodrow Wilson.
During WWI all of his four
sons joined the war effort. After the death of his first son in war
(1918) he was deeply saddened and a year later died.
