The
Persians have been enemies of Rome since its fundation. In all the
world Persians were feared for many years but the Roman empire drove
them towards asia and took most of their territories during wars. Even
though they were great rivals of Rome they were not the people that the
Roman feared the most. The Carthaginians are a people that lived in the coast of the mediterranian in what is today Algeria. The Romans feared the Carthaginians especially during the begining of the Roman fundation as a formidable nation. The Carthaginians had a general named Hannibal taht had a nomad army that he marched towards Rome. It was so apperant the fear that Roman children were threatened that hannibal would take them at night. The Romans defeated the Cartheaginians and obtained the status of being a military power and future empire. |
