Lesson ObjectivesStudents will be able to:
  • identify some different African Safari animals.
  • list some interesting facts on a few of these animals.

Theoretical PerspectiveThis lesson gives students a more worldly view.  It also educates them on animals they might not see everyday.
Procedure
  1. Lesson starts with a teacher lecture introducing Africa and showing where it is on a map.
  2. Students independently follow through a webquest (with form included on the site) to learn about African Safari animals.
  3. Upon compleation of the webquest, students will split into groups based on favorite Safari animal.
  4. Each group will make a poster for the animal of their choice, including pictures and fun facts.
  5. Groups will present their animal to the rest of the class.
EvaluationStudents will be evaluated based on the following:
  • completion of the webquest form
  • completion of group project
