Theoretical Perspective:

This information is important because it will give the students a perspective of how other cultures, like the Vikings or Norwegians, lived their life on the beliefs of these myths. Also, it will show the students how the Vikings or Norwegians faith propelled their actions in the arts and religious beliefs.

Introductory Activity:

We will begin with a short discussion about what the students know about what is mythology and in particular what they know about Norse mythology.

Step-by-step-

Week one: Bring the class together and start lecturing about Norse mythology. Then start reading stories from books about Norse mythology.

Week two: Have the students pick a Norse god, name selected from a hat, do research on that god and present a two page report on that god.

Week three: Continue with presentations of reports and then go to website Norse mythology that was created and have 30 minutes to complete the challenge. Then at end of week the students will take test on Norse mythology.

Adaptation for different learners- The student will be given extra time to do website and test.

Homework- the student will go to library or internet to do research for the report that they will be presenting.

Evaluation: The written presentation that they do and the test that will be administered, as well as, how they do on the website challenge. From these items it will it can be gauged how well the student took in the material. The written presentation on the Norse god will be a very good measurement of how well they understand the subject.

Concerns: One of the concerns will be how the parents view this subject because to some parents Norse mythology contradicts with their beliefs. To some individuals, Norse mythology is a pagan belief. Another concern is the availability for the students to get to a computer to help them do the research for their paper.
