website is a great resource for parents as well as their
children. It gives parents ideas for everything from crafts
and birthday party ideas to recipes and educational printouts.

reading-level appropriate books for kids of all ages. It also
offers printouts to help supplement your child’s education.
The Parent
Teacher Association was formed in order to give the adults in
students’ lives an opportunity to have their voices be heard
on educational issues. The Association’s website is a great
resource for parents to learn more about their mission and how
to join.
As a
Special Education classroom many of our students have Autism
Spectrum Disorders and the website for the American Autism
Association is a great place for parents to go with any
questions they have about raising an autistic child.
For parents
of children with special needs other than Autism the National
Center for Learning Disabilities is a place to go for
information about treatment and the most effective learning
techniques.
Keeping
your children safe on the internet is becoming harder and
harder with the use of smart phones and tablets, but ikeepsafe
offers tricks and techniques to make sure your child is
staying on the sites they should be on.
Created and
run by Disney, this website encourages parents to spend more
time with their kids and offers activities and games for the
whole family to participate in.

They will need an understanding of money and coins for the
rest of their lives to buy and sell items.
• Procedure:
A. Introductory
Activity
a. Hand out coins to
students.
b. Ask the students
if they recognize any of the coins or know the value of the
coins.
c. Explain the names
and value of coins.
d. Discuss what
coins are used for and why they are important in everyday
life.
B. Step-by-step
a. Handout worksheet
with online activity directions and have students log onto the
website.
b. Give students
time to explore the website and participate in the coin
addition activity.
c. Following the
time given to play the game, have students return to their
seats with any questions they have.
C. Review the problems they were
responsible for during the online activity on the board and
address any questions that students have.
D. Adaptations for different learners:
Students who are struggling will be allowed use of the real
coins while doing the online problems.
