One of the most important things to me as a teacher is to make sure all my students feel comfortable and accepted. For this reason it is my goal to always practice culturally responsive teaching and include and embrace all of my students' backgrounds as much as possible.

I was born in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, but I moved to Holyoke, Massachusetts when I was a year old. I am SO excited to be working in this dual language program, here in the city that raised me! On my free time I like to crochet, do crafts, and spend time with my family. I can't wait to get to know each of you this year! Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns! :)

¡Bienvenid@s a nuestra clase! ¡Soy Miss Ruiz y amo el primer grado! Me gradué de Westfield State University con un bachillerato en educación elemental y otro bachillerato en español. Quiero obtener una maestría en educación bilingüe, inglés como segundo idioma y educación multicultural en UMASS Amherst.

Una de las cosas más importantes para mí como maestra es asegurarme de que todos mis estudiantes se sientan cómodos y aceptados. Por esta razón, quiero practicar siempre una enseñanza culturalmente receptiva e incluir e incorporar las culturas de mis estudiantes tanto como sea posible.

Nací en Bayamón, Puerto Rico, pero me mudé a Holyoke, Massachusetts cuando tenía un año. ¡Estoy tan emocionada de trabajar en este programa, aquí en la ciudad que me crió!
