Course Assignments: Educ 0587

1. Lesson #1 consists of two separate parts.

A. A traditional lesson, but in this case, the primary content resource is the Internet. Please remember to follow the lesson plan & objective formats discussed in class. Also, please list the web sites used under Instructional Materials.

B. The second part of the assignment asks for a description and analysis of the process for lesson development. In other words, how did you go about creating the lesson? Why did you choose the subject? How did you go about finding Internet information. How did you determine which information to use? How do you evaluate this process? What did you learn? What might you do different next time? Etc..........

2. Lesson #2 also consists of two parts.

A. In this case, the lesson presupposes that your students have access to internet connected computers. Develop a lesson, therefore, that includes student use of the net. Please do not hand in an existing lesson found on-line. Be creative and take advantage of this time to explore.

B. Same as 1B, but also include any concerns you might have about your students learning this way.

3. Group Project & Lesson

A. Working in groups of 3-4, you will develop a Web Site of your own. Included in this web site should be:

• a brief introduction of what will be found at your site, including a statement of your views on the use of the internet in education. Also maybe some background info on the group/class.
• a listing (also categorized) of at least 50 educational websites. Please provide a 1-2 sentence review of each.
• a listing of lesson plan examples found on the web that you think reflect your groups teaching/learning philosophy.
• a listing of your own lesson plans developed in class.
• anything else you want to include.
